Ichiro's Malt Chichibu Specially Selected by La Maison du Whisky 'Hannya Mask' Single Malt Whisky highlights the exceptional craftsmanship of the Chichibu Distillery located in Japan. Distilled in January 2010 and bottled in 2016, this limited release features only 209 bottles. It matured for six years in a single bourbon barrel (cask number 663) and boasts a robust ABV of 61.5%.
The whisky presents an inviting nose, revealing a harmonious blend of vanilla, honey, and fresh fruits, along with hints of oak and floral notes. On the palate, it is rich and full-bodied, showcasing flavours of caramel and ripe orchard fruits, underpinned by delicate spices and the inherent sweetness of bourbon cask maturation. The finish is notably long and warming, characterised by lingering malt sweetness and gentle oak influence.
The release is elegantly adorned with artwork of the Hannya Mask by artist Romain Fère, enhancing its visual appeal in addition to the sophisticated tasting experience it offers.
